The renovated trailers have finally passed inspection and are ready to house volunteers! This endeavor is a partnership between St. Thomas Lutheran Church and the New Jersey Synod, in particular, Lutheran Social Ministry (LSM). The trailers will be home, on a weekly basis, to volunteers from across the country. Their mission is to assist in the ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief efforts throughout the “shore” area. St. Thomas Lutheran Church would like to thank all of the people who worked so hard in making this project a reality.
Rally Day, which is the official start-up and registration day for Christian Education, will be held Sunday, September 9th, at 10:20AM in Luther Hall (Gym). There will be games, songs, and snacks. Please come join us for the kickoff to a new school year where you will get to meet your teachers and new church friends.
The Church Picnic Pot-Luck will be held the following Sunday (September 16th) at 12:30PM. Join us for fellowship and fun. What a great way to get to know your church families! There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex for the pot-luck and help needed. Hope to see you there!!
St. Thomas Lutheran Church, in Brick, NJ, is seeking a guitar player who can sing. This stipend position is for a Contemporary Service lasting approximately 9 months (September – May). The Garden Getaway Retreat is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, from 8:30 AM til ??? (usually between 3 and 4 PM). The cost of $20 includes breakfast and lunch and all necessary retreat materials. All you need do is come! And please feel free to invite a friend; you need not be a member of St. Thomas to attend.
There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex. Please use the envelopes provided there for your payment. Checks should be made out to St. Thomas Lutheran Church and please be sure to put “Garden Getaway Retreat” on the memo line of your check. Attention all “Youth” of St. Thomas. Join us for our annual Easter Pajama Party on Sunday, March 29th, at 6PM. Please wear your pajamas and bring up to four (4) hard-boiled eggs for coloring. Also, an Easter egg hunt will take place in the church narthex and sanctuary. Games will be played in Luther Hall and light snacks will be provided. You will find the sign-up sheet in the church narthex.

The annual Congregational Meeting will be held Sunday, February 3rd, immediately following the 11:30AM service. Among the items on the agenda will be the budget for the year, election of council members, and a review of the ministry here at St. Thomas. Please be sure to attend this important meeting.
St. Thomas Lutheran Church has a tenant. They are Family Resource Association (FRA). This organization does incredible work in helping handicapped/disabled adults learn life-long skills and be a contributing member to society. Their office and classrooms are located in the “education” wing of the church. St. Thomas continues to work with FRA as a community outreach opportunity. Both St. Thomas and FRA can promote their respective missions with the help of each other. Please see attached flyer for more details on FRA.
